FKC Boys Semifinals

Axtell held the lead at the end of the first period, 11-8, and Eustis-Farnam came back in the second quarter to take the lead at the break, 18-21. The Wildcats used a 18-10 third period to overtake the Knights 36-31 at the end of three. Axtell advances to the finals with a win 51-44. Spencer Fecht set the pace for Axtell with 17 points, Blake Fahernbruch had 10 points, and Nick Robison added 8 points. Ben Kugler scored 14 points to lead the Knights, Djorn Dunlap put up 13 points, and Drew Wetovick had 9 points.

Overton outshot the Mustangs 26-11 at the end of the first. The Eagles continued in the second period to lead 46-23 at the break. Matt Aten came off the bench for Overton making 13 points in the second quarter. SEM made a strong comeback after the break. Outscoring Overton 21-11 in the third period. The fourth quarter was even with scoring 18-18 in the final period. Overton moves on to the finals, 75-62. Jacob Olmstead, Jared Shafer, and Matt Aten set the pace for the Eagles, scoring 16 points each, Zach Olmstead added 11 points. Jake Rohde put up 18 points for the Mustangs, Dillon Line had 15 points, and Evan Ibach scored 12 points.

Eustis-Farnam takes on SEM in the consolation finals at Holdrege High School at 4:00 PM.
Axtell and Overton meet in the finals at 8:00 PM.

FKC Girls Semifinals

Axtell used a late charge to overtake Pleasanton, 50-47, and advance to the finals on Saturday. Jenna Myers hit the 3 pointer that put Axtell ahead.

Loomis continues on to the finals to meet Axtell in Holdrege. The Lady Wolves beat Wilcox-Hildreth 47-41.

Pleasanton will play against Wilcox-Hildreth in the consolation finals at Holdrege High School.

FKC Wrestling Tournament

Amherst Broncos took a commanding lead in the Fort Kearny Conference team race, scoring 216.5 points to runner-up SEM 120.5 points. Amherst had 8 individual champions. Overton had two champions. SEM, Loomis-Bertand, Elwood, and Pleasanton each had one champion.

Hodgson signs with Concordia

Jared Hodgson, son of David and Marlene Hodgson signed a letter of intent with Concordia University. The Overton senior will play football for the Bulldogs as a running back. Concordia is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Overton head football coach Glen Snodgrass and CU head football coach Vance Winter were on hand for the signing at Overton High School.
